Hello Dearest Sisters!
Happy Raining Sunday! Hope you are all at home and comfy. If not cuddle up in a blanket and read this talk to prepare for the lesson for next Sunday! J It’s a cuddle up in a blankie or a husband type a day! Hehehe (just guessing on the hubby! )
It is awesome to see the hands of heaven on earth through each of you as the source to deliver the comfort and love to those around you! I have been touched through your outstanding service to each other. Thank you for helping me know what it is like to live in a ZION type ward. Your love and service is felt all around the neighborhood. As we received the email yesterday that all the ward missionaries in the Chile regions are safe, tears filled my eyes because when I got a CNN braking news text around 1am on Friday night telling about the quake, I immediately started to pray for those that I know in Chile that they will be protected as well as the missionaries that are there to preach the gospel that they will be preserved to continue what they sacrificed to do. Little did I know that I was praying for people in the Meadows Ward. So happy to hear they were protected and their mission will continue here on the earth.
This week the circle of life has been evident in my life. With the funeral of Verna to the engagement of Laurisa Whiting on the same day, it is wonderful to be reminded how each of us are all in such different stages of life. Some of us are in the single stage, others the dating stage, engagement stage, newly wed, new parents, some have many children, some may have straying children, others may be going through marriage woes, some are first time grandparents while other’s lives are nearing the end.. yet we are all in Relief Society together where OUR stage of life is welcomed no matter where we are at. Where all of us can learn and grow from each other’s experiences regardless of age or stage. That is the beauty of Relief Society! I appreciate Suzann Garner’s lesson today which reminded us of our need for the Spirit regardless of what stage we are in. The need we have to be still and listen. To take the time out that we need to “wrestle with” and earn the spirit in our life. That is how we make it through our stages, that is how we are reassured through trials, that is how we know how to help ease one another’s burdens.
May your next week be filled with the ability to feel the promptings of the spirit! Keep loving other.. you are great at it!
See you at ward temple night on Tues!
Meg
